HOW TO GET DRESSED WHEN IT'S COLD?

HOW TO GET DRESSED WHEN IT'S COLD?

In winter, when the temperatures are low, even negative, one of the first reflexes of the human being is to pile up layers of clothing in order to design a real armor against the cold. If some then opt for what is called layering (or the human sandwich), others will prefer either to go for technical materials or naturally insulating materials. One thing is sure, to fight effectively against the cold of winter, the most effective solution is to cover yourself well. However, if becoming a real trapper is not to everyone's taste, it is possible to dress elegantly, even in winter. Here, we will give some advice to face the big cold without putting aside our style. The materials to be preferred, the mastery of the layering or some tips to dress well (from the most dressy look to the most casual), here are, among others, the points that we will approach together:

1. What do we mean by "cold"?
A. What is heat flow?
Concrete experience :

Touch a piece of iron and a piece of wood and compare their heat.
Which material seems to be the coldest? Iron of course.

Even if it may seem strange, know that it is not related to the ambient temperature, but to the heat flow. Simply put, it is the amount of heat that passes between them. Well, for our body, it's exactly the same thing! That's why when we are in the shade or in the sun, we don't feel the same sensation, even if in the end, the temperature remains the same. Our sensation of warmth is thus due to the sun's rays which, in contact with our skin, bring us a surplus of heat flux. Even if the most important remains the heat flow, the ambient temperature will also play a major role. Simply because the flow will depend partly on the outside temperature.

The greater the difference in temperature between our body and the ambient air, the higher the flow will be. On the other hand, the lower the air temperature, the colder we will feel (and yes Jamy).
